First Date!

[Rise had been on many first dates, mostly because she'd had a hard time finding the right kind of person for her. A lot of people she'd hoped to date were drawn to her just because of her celebrity, and were more interested in Risette than the girl behind the idol. She didn't exactly fault them for it, but it made her feel often like they didn't care to know about the real her, so the relationships didn't tend to last.

This time was different!

Today Rise was the one to ask out her date, because she knew there was something special about them right from the start! This time she was certain she'd found someone truly meaningful, and more importantly? Someone she felt like she could be herself around, which was a very rare thing indeed. So often she was putting on a show, pretending to be what people expected her to be, but here and now she felt like she could be truly herself.]

Ta dah! Here is The Pizza Zone! One of the best arcades by day, and clubs by night! A playground for people of all ages, serving their clientele differently depending on the hour. I've done one or two private performances here in the past, so they know me pretty well here. Just wait until they see me with you though! There eyes are going to pop out!

[She hooked her arm in her date's and tugged them towards the double doors of the entrance.]

What do you want to do first?! Personally I'm a fan of air hockey!

[With the crowd dispersed, Asuka kissed Rise back before holding her close.]

You were amazing. We might be going out, but I am so making sure you are safe! There is no way I’ll let anything harm you!

[At first Asuka's exclamation made Rise think she doubted that she told her, but then she realized it was quite an excited exclamation about living up to her own hype and then-]

Mmmf?!

[Helloooooo surprise kisses! The best kind of kisses! Well at least one of Rise's favorite kinds of kisses when they were a welcome surprise! Clearly she did a good job if this was the kind of reaction she was getting out of Asuka. As she broke off the kiss to speak, Rise was fanning herself with her hand to try to make sure she didn't swoon.]

You'll...

[Oh no... Rise was feeling so moved by Asuka's words she felt like she was gonna cry. She's had a few stalkers before, and even a kidnapping once, but this was the first time she'd ever had her crush promise she'd keep her safe no matter what. She believed it too, since Asuka was such a badass mech pilot.]

Oh Asuka... thank you.

[Don't cry, don't cry!]

Will you... let me stay with you?

You know what? Sure! I’m sure I can convince Misato to set up an apartment for the two of us.

[A beat]

That’s what you mean, right? Not just side by side?

[Did she jump the gun here?]

[Rise is stunned silent for a moment. She had meant more in the "by her side" sort of stay with her, or maybe just stay over for the night!

...

[If Asuka thought she had moved too fast and scared Rise, she was wrong. Rise moved... pretty fast!

AAAAA! I'd LOVE that! We could snuggle up together every day after school, cook meals for one another, brush each other's hair, take steamy baths together, kiss whenever we wanted, go to parties together, share the same bed, read each other's internet histories, have sex on the kitchen table, watch corny old movies together, help each other with household chores... Ah...

[She cleared her throat, trying not to come off like she was a total romantic nut job.]

I think it would probably be best if we tried a sleepover or two first. As much as I'd like to move in with you right away, I might snore or something and drive you crazy. You should have a little bit of a trial period with me before making that kind of commitment.

[As much as she wanted to be crazy, impulsive, and romantically over the top, she still had a practical side. She just hoped she didn't say anything too over the top or embarrassing herself!]

[Asuka blinked at what Rise had suggested they could do. Honestly, it sounded cute… though ‘sex on the kitchen counter’ was a little above what she would suggest doing.

However, Rise coming down from that high made her calm down as well, making her realize she had mistaken what she had asked. At the same time, though, she was so glad that Rise had enough of a calm head to suggest doing a sleepover first]

That… actually sounds a lot better as a good stepping stone. Sorry, I guess I jumped the gun and misread you.

At the same time, though… I could really use a more friendly face than usual.

[Rise leaned in and kissed Asuka, a short sweet little thing on the lips to set the mood back from awkward and shy to more calm and romantic.]

Don't be sorry, I loved it. It means I'm doing a fantastic job of wrapping you around my little finger. I may have jumped the gun a bit with some of the suggestions of things we could do if we lived together myself, but I hope you'll take them with a grain of salt. I'm quite a bit of a tease, and when it comes down to actually acting on my wild impulsive ideas I an be quite shy.

[One of these days she'd have to tell Asuka about her shadow that did a strip tease show on the midnight channel. It's not the sort of story you can tell your girlfriend on your first date, but it was certainly a great ice breaker for a steamier night.]

Sounds like things are a bit rough at home, so why don't you come over to my place after our date? I promise I won't try to take any of your clothes off for our first night together.

[Not that she likely would have had the courage to try.]
